Hot Honey Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce

Tray of Hot Honey Garlic Parmesan Wings on a table.

I love chicken wings. And I especially love cooking them at home because you can play with all sorts of different flavor combinations. Plus it’s way cheaper than eating out at a restaurant! My current favorite combo is these that have been coated in a hot honey garlic parmesan wing sauce! I’ve been toying with the recipe for a while and I think I’ve finally nailed the flavor combination, if I do say so myself.

This combination of flavors is an irresistible merger of sweetness, garlic, nutty cheese with a fiery kick. Huge shoutout to my wife for putting up with the various iterations of this recipe. I’ve made it quite a few times and this one was the clear winner!

Lets Talk About Hot Honey

Hot honey is secretly the star of the show in this recipe. It provides that extra layer of depth in flavor to the traditional garlic parmesan wings. Of course you could buy it but it’s very easy to make as well.

It’s as simple as combining honey, red pepper flakes and a splash of acid to balance it all out. You can read the full write up about it here.

Pro Tips: Hot Honey Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce

As I always say, the easier the recipe, the more the little details matter. Use this tips to get to most out of your efforts.

  • Freshly Grated Parmesan: I got lazy one time and used pre shredded parm and it definitely wasn’t the same. Learn from my mistakes.
  • Let the butter and sauce cool: I added the parmesan cheese to the butter sauce while it was hot and it turned into a goopy mess. Don’t do that.
  • Make them extra hot: You can always add more red chili pepper flake to boost the Scoville rating.

Come back and leave a rating a comment if you make them. Enjoy!!
